About Sarah

Sarah Hayes was born and raised in the amazing dry heat of far-northern California where she graduated from a local university with her teaching credential, started her family known as “Hurricane Hayes”, and discovered her love for writing while her children napped. In 2015 she galloped into the publishing world with her children’s book, Cowboy Wyatt, (currently in need of new illustrations before getting relaunched). And after four and a half years of finally putting her credential to use homeschooling, her family jumped into the steam-bath land of southeastern Tennessee where her children re-entered the public school world (covered in prayers by their mama), and Sarah re-entered the land of daydreams and writing. Despite the humidity, they still reside in Tennessee and Sarah gets to dedicate time to working on her debut novel, Into the Veil.

Fun Facts

  • As a child I did not understand why people would ever drink hot tea…as an adult I drink it daily…maybe hourly.

  • I have a massive sweet tooth…but I can’t stand honey or sugar in my tea.

  • I am a lifelong daydreamer. If you see my lips moving quietly to myself or see me smiling to the air…just know it’s going to be a good story.

  • My husband and I were high school sweethearts, and I still have all of the notes we passed each other in the hallways (benefits of being a teen in the pre-cell phone era).

  • I have five children and haven’t slept in about 15 years.

  • I love Jesus more than anything…even fresh-out-of-the-oven, warm, gooey chocolate chip cookies, which are also a favorite.

  • After passing out on a mission’s trip in Ukraine, I was given radioactive water to drink from a lake affected by the Chornobyl disaster in Russia…I may or may not have superpowers now.

  • I am an essential oil fanatic. You will often smell me before you see me…But I usually smell good.

Into The Veil

Coming Soon!

She forgot who she was…But the curse never did.

No memories, no identity, and trapped in a hostile village by a magical veil, Anolli is forced to live with a madman who may be her best ally. Hunted by enchanted vines that respond to her every move and haunted by a Lightning Moth that blocks her from fleeing, escape becomes impossible. As she pieces together the fragments of her forgotten past, Anolli discovers the forbidden power lying dormant within her. But the closer she gets to the terrible truth, the more she realizes that remembering might cost more than just her freedom– it might cost innocent lives. The only things she trusts are Titus, the boy whose warmth feels like a home she can’t remember, and the terrifying instinct to reach for a blade that isn’t there.

Some memories might be better off forgotten.
